The American Founding

This course is an intensive study of the constitutional convention, the struggle over ratification of the Constitution, and the creation of the Bill of Rights. It will include a close examination of The Federalist and the anti-federalist papers.

Instructors: Gordon Lloyd is Professor of Public Policy at Pepperdine University. Among his publications related to the American Founding are the books The Essential Antifederalist and The Essential Bill of Rights. Christopher Burkett is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Ashland University. He has published on the American Founding and American foreign policy, and lectures on the Founding, the Enlightenment, and American social thought.
